For those participants who attend the Region XIII Paraprofessional training, a locally developed assessment to demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics which meets requirements for ensuring that all paraprofessionals are highly qualified will be administered.

• Literacy basics (Phonological/Phonemic Awareness, Fluency, Writing, Word Study/Vocabulary, Comprehension)

• Tools for supporting Reading, Math and the Writing Process
